Under the GM Mobility Reimbursement Program, a customer may be reimbursed up to $1,000 of the cost of any eligible aftermarket adaptive equipment when installed (or reinstalled) on any eligible purchased or leased new vehicle manufactured by GM, including Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, GMC, HUMMER, Oldsmobile, Pontiac and Saturn divisions. GM also offers a fully motorized, rotating lift-and-lower passenger seat.

SCAT provides transportation for the handicapped within Suffolk County, NY six days a week for a nominal fee. Call the above numbers for an application. SCAT was a welcome help to both Danielle and I when she injured her patella. She had applied for services a year prior so that she would have transportation available should she need--and need she did!

Copies of the federal Department of Transportation and ADA Paratransit standards are available upon request. You may also access them through the FTA website listed above.
Contact the handicapped services department for your county of residence for information on the paratransit program in your area.
